Renders of the 40-metre yacht concept K by Miminat Designs have been unveiled, exhibiting the show stopping elegance and opulent amenities offered onboard this pioneering vessel.Hailing from the drawing boards of British-Nigerian designer Miminat Shodeinde, further interiors are due to be revealed in the second half of 2024, after the yacht was commissioned in 2022.In terms of her accommodation, at a volume of 300 GT, the vessel includes an owner’s suite on the main deck, while a lavish VIP stateroom can be found below deck. There are also three double or twin staterooms available, and crew quarters suitable for hosting up to six crew members. The yacht K’s exterior, which was also penned by Shodeinde, a glossy, black profile with sharp edges projects a sense of understated glamour as well as stealthy athleticism on the water. A glass-covered atrium to the front of the saloon, and the extended beach club with swimming pool to stern, elevate the exterior spaces to a turnkey standard. In terms of K’s interior design, this “moving art” is characterised by high ceilings, unrestricted, lofty areas with a largely black colour palette that reflects the same luxurious mystery and darkness as her outside silhouette.
Even so, pops of ecru suede-like fabric and honey-yellow jute throughout the seating areas give the yacht’s indoor social hubs a multidimensional, sensory quality. Moreover, K’s height ceilings are set to be lined with ceramic-composite panels in contrastingly light shades, replicating the form of a classic Japanese tatami mat. Each of the yacht’s unique furniture pieces will be crafted in-house at Shodeinde’s London-based studio.Above the formal dining table surrounded by expansive, geometric windows for a sea view, is an eye-catching lighting fixture that marries both stylish minimalism and playful distinctiveness, while a modern, rugged sculpture serves as the saloon’s statement piece.“A lot of what I do stems from Japanese design philosophy, as I often centre on space, simplicity, harmony, and the natural elements,” Shodeinde explained.Further entertainment can be found while basking in the blissful outdoors onboard the yacht K, as her exterior spaces offer a variety of seating options, including a fire pit situated on the bow.In addition, a generous outdoor Infinity pool flanked by sumptuous lounge chairs means guests can take in the dreamy, uninterrupted views from the comfort of sunshine and warm water.Performance-wise, there are a variety of engine options available, however, K’s expected cruising speed is 16 knots and her top speed is 25 knots.
